Results - Limerick Head of the River

Limerick Head of the River is probably the largest and most competitive of the rowing time trial events held over the winter period.    The club would normally have regarded winning a single pennant as a successful outcome, as can be evidenced from the relatively few of the distinctive Limerick HOR pennants on display in the clubhouse.

The 2013 event was held on the Shannon on the 23rd March and we were delighted with the performances of our crews which resulted in three wins and a number of excellent placings.

In a very competitive Men's Junior 15 sculling event (15 entries) Stephen O'Sullivan finished first with Ronan Byrne aclose second.   Our Women's J16 quad followed up a fine row in Cork Head of the River with a great win in a field of eleven crews while Donal Smith won the Men's Master's 1X.

Other excellent results were a second place for our Men's Junior 16 Eight and also in second place were our Women's Junior 18 Eight and Women's Junior 16 Eight.

Well done to all who competed for Shandon and it's nice to see a few more of the royal blue pennants on display.
